It was pretty dry upon our arrival in Fontana Friday evening, but that did not last too long… it rained HARD all night into Saturday morning.

Just minutes before this picture was taken, our rig was caught up in the middle of this lake in the pit area.

We settled for camping access.

Blake Carney was first off in 4X under rainy skies Saturday afternoon.

Carney has this track well dialed and is always in contention in the final heat. He has already accrued a stack of points for the overall title, which includes a 3rd a 2nd and now another 3rd place finish.

Left to right: Jarrod Jakubiak (TLD), Blake Carney (KHS Factory), Eric Carter (GT), Mitch Ropelato

Chris Heath joined the team for his first race on a KHS this weekend, and added some great energy to the teams chemistry.

“Come Rain or Shine!!!”

Higher ground is dryer ground.

Mountain Bike Action’s own, Ryan Cleek was busy all weekend snapping shots, gathering data and finishing 6th in the DH Expert Men 27-34!

Off for DH training runs… Practice Makes Perfect!

Jeremiah Dylan Dean (Nema TM) and his assistant Stephen Kelly ( seen on the left) , go “Rock, Paper, Scissors” for the best out of 5, to see who sets up the tents!

Every Fontana race gets a chopper’s interest, and it always adds to the already upbeat atmosphere.

Binggeli had another consistent DH final on Sunday. It is important to be consistent, because every run counts tremendously for the overall series title.

Currently Logan is 4th in the points for the overall DH Title, and this remains the same after his 7th place finish in a field of 52 Pro athletes.

Chris Heath in his first DH race with KHS…he looked smooth and fast all weekend long.

Heath came to Fontana to gauge his fitness, and also to do some set-up and testing on his Downhill bike. He had an excellent finish taking 11th place. This preparation will boost his confidence for the defense of his Pro GRT Title in 2010.

I just wanted a solid finish to redeem myself from Fontana # 2.

Conditions were once again just prime! I had a clean, almost mistake free run, and laid down a respectable time taking the 15th spot… Super Fun!!

Carney is beginning to feel more comfortable with the KHS bikes. This will be Blake’s first season with some real focus on  Downhill … he is fired up for 2010’s Downhill racing!

Carney tested a proto-type bike for KHS and raced on it in the DH and placed 19th, rounding out some solid results for the KHS Gravity Team.

“East Coast!!!”?!

We had a DH Bike Bunny Hop Comp in the camping area right before packing up … Chris says: “I won!”

Logan says:”No you didn’t!!”

Blake says: “I’m out!”

All packed up and ready for the next event in Nevada – The Silver State.

If you need a pool guy Willy is your man!

We will be back at Bootleg Canyon, in Boulder City, NV this coming weekend for “The New Mob!”.  KHS is the presenting sponsor and we will be giving away another DH200 frame set to some lucky winner!!

Pleased stay tuned for more updates as they become available.

All the best,
